Assignment - Darwin Week!
Darwin Week
is February 11 - 14 at The College, with events scheduled in the
Physicians Auditorium, Science Center 123, and several other venues
around Charleston. See the web site for scheduling details. These events will probably be very popular - arrive early to get a
good
seat!
Your assignment is to attend one of these events and write a
brief
report, outlining the theme or subject of the event and its impact on
your
understanding of evolutionary science and/or related social issues.
Your report need be no more than a single paragraph, but it
might stretch to a couple pages. It should
summarize the entire presentation in just a couple sentences of
introduction
or background and a couple sentences reviewing the points being made by
the
presenter. You may feel free to use the brief descriptive blurbs
on the web
site as a starting place, but you’ll need to provide answers, bottom
lines,
and conclusions. You should also add at least a sentence or two
evaluating
the presentation from your own standpoint. What did you
personally
learn?
Your report is due Monday, February 18. It will be worth
50
points on your final grade. Please work independently - do not
collaborate
with your classmates or other students.
